Giving Hope to Animals in Bolivia Bolivian flag

Supporting animal welfare in Tarija and Cochabamba through veterinary care, education, and community outreach.

Our Purpose

Our Mission

Quest & Frankie's Animal Foundation was created out of love for animals, community, and the belief that every life deserves compassion. The Foundation is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them in Bolivia. Our mission is to advocate for animals in need, educate our community on compassionate care, and serve with love — inspired by the unconditional love of our companions, Quest and Frankie.

Giselle Garamendi

Founder & President

Giselle is the founder and president of Quest & Frankie's Animal Foundation, whose roots trace back to Tarija, Bolivia. Raised in Virginia by animal-loving parents, her journey began early — adopting her first dog Moses sparked a love that never faded, one she now shares with her cat Quest and dog Frankie. Guided by faith, she was led to veterinary medicine, spending many years advocating for and rescuing animals.

Motivated by John 15:13"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends" — Giselle lives by the truth that real love is selfless. She believes in putting the needs of those we love above our own, and that is exactly what she intends to do for the animals of Bolivia.

Her vision: everlasting change for animals and the people who love them — one life at a time, in her beloved Tarija and other parts of Bolivia.

Our Inspiration

Quest is a beloved rescue cat, adopted by Giselle. He has taught us that every animal deserves a chance — the reason we never stop fighting for the ones still waiting for theirs.

Frankie

Frankie

Giselle's courageous Shih Tzu and the spirited soul behind this foundation's name. Small in size, mighty in heart — proof that the biggest hearts often come in the smallest packages.

Where We Work

Why Bolivia?

We're starting our work in Tarija, with hopes to grow and support other parts of Bolivia—like Cochabamba—over time. Across the country, countless animals face hardship because of limited access to veterinary care, preventive medicine, education, and basic resources. The need is great—and so is the opportunity to help.

  • Stray animal overpopulation in cities and surrounding communities
  • Lack of access to vaccinations against preventable disease
  • Limited spay & neuter programs to manage the population humanely
  • Financial barriers for families seeking veterinary care
  • A growing need for animal welfare education
Local organizations and volunteers are already doing incredible work. Our foundation exists to support and amplify those efforts—so their compassion can reach even further.
